Specific notes for 3PLs:
We are currently looking for a suitable third-party logistics (3PL) and fulfilment partner within approximately 40–50 miles of Warrington, preferably around Warrington, St Helens, Liverpool or Manchester.
Our products are food products, primarily imported spices from India, including whole spices and powdered spices. The products arrive in sealed/packed units and require suitable ambient, food-grade storage and fulfilment.
We sell through multiple channels, including Amazon and Shopify, and we are looking for a fulfilment partner who can manage the following:
• Food-grade ambient storage
• Receiving and storing imported food products
• Pick and pack
• Order fulfilment and dispatch
• Amazon/FBA preparation where required
• Shopify/e-commerce order integration
• Batch/lot tracking and traceability
• Best-before date management and FIFO/FEFO rotation
• Stock management and inventory reporting
• Returns handling
• Relabelling/repacking if required
• Suitable hygiene, pest-control and cleaning procedures
• HACCP-based food-safety procedures
• Support/cooperation in the event of a food-safety or Environmental Health inspection
Our current requirement is approximately 50–100 kg per unit/stock requirement, with an estimated space requirement of approximately 20 m² per unit. We expect the requirement to grow as our Amazon and Shopify sales increase.
As our products are imported from India, food-safety compliance, traceability and appropriate storage conditions are particularly important to us. We therefore need a facility that is properly equipped and experienced in handling ambient food products.
Could you please confirm:
1. Whether you accept spices, including whole and powdered spices.
2. Whether your facility is registered/approved for food storage and handling.
3. Whether you operate a HACCP-based food-safety system.
4. Whether you hold BRCGS or any other relevant food-safety certification.
5. Whether your facility is suitable for an Environmental Health/food-safety inspection.
6. Your available storage options and minimum storage requirements.
7. Your charges for storage, goods-in, pick & pack, dispatch and returns.
8. Whether you integrate directly with Amazon and Shopify.
9. Whether you provide Amazon FBA preparation.
10. Whether you provide batch/lot and best-before-date tracking.
11. Whether you can handle our current volume of approximately 50–100 kg and approximately 20 m² of storage.
12. The approximate distance/location of the proposed warehouse from Warrington.
13. Whether we can arrange a site visit before entering into an agreement.
